What materials can be welded by a handheld laser welding machine?

The handheld laser welding machine has become an emerging industrial technology in industrial welding processing with its advantages of fast welding speed, high precision, high efficiency, and smooth and beautiful welds. Hand-held laser welding machines are widely used, but many people do not know what materials can be welded by laser welding machines.

1. Die steel

The handheld laser welding machine is suitable for welding various types of die steel, and the welding effect is better.

2. Carbon steel

Carbon steel is welded with a handheld laser welding machine, and the effect is good, and the quality of its welding depends on the content of impurities. To obtain good welding quality, preheating is required when the carbon content exceeds 0.25%. When steels with different carbon content are welded to each other, the welding torch can be slightly biased to the side of the low-carbon material to ensure the quality of the joint. Since the heating speed and cooling speed of the laser welding machine are very fast during welding, it is used when welding carbon steel. As the carbon content increases, the susceptibility to weld cracks and notches will increase. Both medium and high carbon steel and ordinary alloy steel can be well laser welded, but preheating and post-welding treatment are required to eliminate stress and avoid cracks.

3. Alloy aluminum

For laser welding of low-alloy high-strength steel, as long as the selected welding parameters are appropriate, a joint with mechanical properties equivalent to the base metal can be obtained.

4. Stainless steel

In general, stainless steel welding is easier to obtain high-quality joints than conventional welding. Due to the high welding speed and small heat-affected zone of laser welding, the overheating phenomenon and the large linear expansion coefficient of stainless steel welding are alleviated, and the welding seam has no defects such as pores and inclusions. Compared with carbon steel, stainless steel is easier to obtain deep penetration narrow welds due to its low thermal conductivity, high energy absorption rate, and melting efficiency. Welding thin plates with low-power laser welding can obtain joints with a well-formed appearance and smooth and beautiful welds.

5. Copper and copper alloys

Welding copper and copper alloys are prone to problems of infusion and incomplete penetration. Therefore, concentrated energy and high-power heat source should be used with preheating measures; when the thickness of the workpiece is thin or the structural rigidity is small, and there is no measure to prevent deformation, welding Later, it is easy to produce larger deformation, and when the welded joint is subject to greater rigidity, it is easy to produce welding stress; it is also easy to produce hot cracks when welding copper and copper alloys; pores are a common defect in copper and copper alloy welding.

6. Aluminum and aluminum alloy

Aluminum and aluminum alloys are highly reflective materials. When welding aluminum and its alloys, as the temperature increases, the solubility of hydrogen in aluminum increases sharply. The dissolved hydrogen becomes a source of defects in the weld, and there are many pores in the weld. , And there may be a cavity in the root during deep penetration welding, and the weld bead formation is poor.

The laser welding machine can weld far more than these materials. Laser welding can be carried out between a variety of dissimilar metals. Research has shown that it is applied to copper-nickel, nickel-titanium, copper-titanium, titanium-molybdenum, brass-copper, and low-temperature materials. Carbon steel-copper and other dissimilar metals can be laser welded under certain conditions.

An indispensable automatic sorting robot in the supply chain?

Automatic sorting robot , without human hands, autonomously complete equipment sorting work, or machine sorting work as you call it. It is said that in recent years, in logistics companies with labor shortages, robot activities have increased. However, even if you introduce robots just because it will be easier, you may end up with "just the cost is too high...". Recently, the development of intelligent robots is getting faster and faster. There are various types of automatic sorting robots. ① AGV It is called an automatic guided vehicle or an unmanned transportation robot. It is a robot that can operate automatically without manual operation and is used to move objects to a designated location. ② Arm type It is used to move products from one box to another, which is usually done manually. ③ Rail type From packaging to automation of the distribution area to a series of automations for carrying goods, it is a rail-mounted robot. The automatic sorting robot is very effective i...

What Logistics Is and What It Means For Business

Logistics is a topic that deals with the transportation of material or goods, especially over distance. The logistics industry helps businesses transport items such as raw materials and finished products from suppliers to consumers. What is Logistics? Logistics is the process of moving products and materials from Point A to Point B. It is a critical component of business and helps companies get their products to their customers on time, in the right condition, and at the right price. There are many different logistics solutions available to businesses, depending on their specific needs. Some common solutions include transportation, storage, warehousing, and distribution. Logistics can be complex and challenging, but with the right tools and strategies, it can be managed successfully. Some Logistic Benefits 1. Logistics is the process of moving products and materials from one place to another. It’s a key part of business, and it can be used to move anything from small shipments to large...

What to Know Before Using a Freight Forwarder

A freight forwarder is a company that crosses borders of different countries in order to deliver goods from one place to another. They are typically used when individuals or companies want to avoid tariffs, taxes, customs and other restrictions. However, because they move goods through an intermediary, it ’ s important to be aware of the risks of using a freight forwarder so you can make an informed decision.   Why would I need a freight forwarder?   Freight forwarders are brokers who help transport goods from one point to another. They take care of the details of getting a shipment from place to place so that the customer doesn't have to worry about what's going on at all. Some freight forwarders also provide storage services.   What are the advantages of using a freight forwarder?   A freight forwarder can have many advantages. It can save you money on shipping by doing the work for you, and it can also help minimize the expense of your project by focusing o...
